RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is never short of guiles and stagecraft. Even in jail he plays his tricks, while tom-tomming social justice and calling himself a mesiah of the downtrodden. Before he was handed the sentence of three and half years jail term, he had tried all his tricks to impress upon the judge by urging him to keep his cool and pleading that the jail cell was too cold for him and that he was a lawyer registered even with the Supreme Court of India. The judge had then told him that he was always cool and that Laluji could earn a few more degrees in his jail cell! Laluji requested that he be awarded a minimum sentence on health grounds over his diabetes and heart surgery. The RJD leader also said that he was suffering from a bladder infection. According to the report (source: FIRSTPOST 05th January), in his application, Lalu said that the Birsa Munda jail did not have clean drinking water and this may affect his kidneys. He also added that the jail did not have any super medical facilities.
As reported in FIRSTPOST dated 04th January 2018, Shivpal Singh, the special CBI judge who convicted RJD Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam, made a stunning statement in court on Thursday, hinting that he faced pressure from his aides, news reports said. Singh was quoted as saying that he "got phone calls from Lalu's men." However, he did not clarify as to who made these calls to him.
One must admit, that Laluji always keeps the Aam Janta amused with his witticism. Isaac Gomes, Asso. Editor, Church Citizens' Voice.
After being convicted in one of the cases of fodder scam, the news of two of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's attendants, a cook and a helper, making their way into the Birsa Munda jail to serve him has been doing the rounds.
The entire plot has been exposed on how cook Laxman Mahato and attendant Madan Yadav got themselves arrested in Ranchi fraudulently to serve Lalu in jail.
After this disclosure, Lalu Prasad Yadav deliberately encouraged his two attendants to get themselves arrested and for doing this a criminal case should be registered against Lalu and his family.
Party spokesman Sanjay Singh said that with this case Lalu Prasad has crossed all the limits of wrongdoings. Singh said Lalu Prasad got his attendants to commit a crime so that they can serve him in jail. According to Singh the incident has exposed Lalu Prasad Yadav's hypocrisy and double speak on social justice.
"There is no one with a more feudal mindset than Lalu. He has implicated innocent persons for his own interest," said Sanjay Singh, JDU spokesperson.
Sanjay Singh said that the case of cheating and criminal conspiracy should be lodged against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family for plotting the entire drama. He said Lalu Prasad Yadav did not fear law and was a habitual wrong doer and this time he did not desist from fixing even the jail.
"Lalu is under the illusion that he is God in himself but that is not true. He thinks he can play with law but now the law will crack down on him," said Sanjay Singh.
JDU has also questioned former deputy chief minister Tejaswi Yadav and former health minister Tej Pratap Yadav's silence over the issue. Singh said that this is not the first time that Lalu Prasad has gone to jail and his servants have followed him there after committing petty crimes. JDU alleged that Lalu Prasad's family gives big bucks to his servants for performing such stunts.
On the other hand, Hindustani Awam Morcha spokesman Danish Rizwan has said that if Lalu Prasad was so passionate about get himself served in jail, he could have called his son-in-law Shailesh, along with his two sons, in jail.
