Nice:We are already half way through in 2016, and the world has witnessed some of the deadliest terror attacks that have come in quick succession.

(Note: 2016 is the year of terrorism. It has its epicentre in Syria and Iraq. And think of Iraq, the storehouse “of weapons of mass destruction” according to Bush of US where no terrorist bomb exploded under Saddam Hussein! Now under the supervision of more responsible hands, daily strikes extend from the US  to  India (Pathankot in Punjab). The villain in almost all of these strikes happens to be a Muslim even when all profess loudly, Islam is a religion of Peace, that all Muslims are not terrorists although most of the terrorists are Muslims. Some way or other the present chain  of terrorist explosions have to be  related to the “Class of Civilizations” spoken of  by Samuel Huntington.

Huntinton  was one of America’s greatest political scientists. In 1993, he published a sensational essay in Foreign Affairs called “The Clash of Civilizations?” The essay, which became a book, argued that the post-cold war would be marked by civilizational conflict. James KottorThere is no universal civilization, Huntington wrote. Human beings, according to him are divided along cultural lines — Western, Islamic, Hindu and so on. More on it later. What Huntington prophesized seems to be happening literally today. We look forward to another smart guy to counter Huntington’s theory. james kottoor, editor)

We are already half way through in 2016, and the world has witnessed some of the deadliest terror attacks that have come in quick succession.

Right from the entire Middle East to Africa, Europe, Asia and the United States, the year 2016 will be remembered as the year when terrorism clearly spread its tentacles far and wide with its epicenter in Syria and Iraq to hit across different points on the world map.

The worst affected countries are the war-ravaged Iraq, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan where several hundreds have died in 2016 alone, with a terrorist attack claiming several lives almost every other day
