Paradise – Varghese Pamplanil

Today, I had a rare  visit of  paradise on earth,

that filled my heart and being, with joy and bliss.

Moved I among trees and shrubs of rainbow hues,

dazzled and awe struck, all my nerves tinkled,

riot of colours wherever my eyes wandered,

clusters of azaleas, bewitching and mesmerising ,

camellias, and rhododendrons, all in abundance,

blue bells everywhere enchanting,  bewitching.

As in a trance, I ambled on, along winding paths,

saw young and old,  enjoy in gay abandon, not a care,

young lovers holding hands cuddled,  bodies intimate,

old couples walking slowly step by step, reminiscing,

their life of love, care and togetherness for years gone.

Children running around, frolicking and scrambling.

Warm weather invigorated my mind  every way

I LEFT THE GARDEN RELUCTANT, HAPPINESS LINGERED ON.
