Letter to the Editor! Denis Daniel on his elder Brother!
Denis is from MP and he is regular letter to editor on almost every article. His blind spot is he can’t find any fault in my writings, he just deifies me. I am tired of telling him, I am just an idiot worse than many other idiots. So I almost gave up.
Then suddenly it dawned on him that I could be wrong, or was he trying to please me? I mean the present letter! I have underlined and highlighted his objections.
Call a spade, a Spade!
Denis and Sachidanda are my close friends. I gave all my books to Bharathi. We discuss and disagree on so many things, not to please and appease any sisters, religious and immature people. In journalism I have to call “a spade a spde” not a teaspoon!
In this am I not following Jesus who called “high priests of this time”, hypocrites, whitewashed sepulchers, brood of wipers, etc. What will my friend Denis think of the message Jesus sends to childish or innocent sisters. Today if Jesus were to say such things, wouldn’t the Modi Sarkar lock him up in prison?
Such was my dear friend Jacob Macwan of Bombay who passed away a couple of months ago, a firm believer in Catholic faith and tradition. I too was just that, long ago, but changed beyond recognition, which I think only a Francis Pappa who befriends Eugenio Scalfari a sworn atheist can understand.
Honesty best Policy!
In any case, the best thing to do — I think all will agree on this – is to be HONEST, “Honesty is the best policy,” that is, to be honest to God, honest to oneself and honest to our neighbors.

My dear elder brother James,
You say a mouthful whenever or whatever you want to say. and you say it in glowing, literary, effective, dignified, powerful and profound manner.
The number of references and quotes you give from the scriptures, authors, history, theology and other sources are always apt, hard hitting and justified. You seem to have very high praise for Pope Francis but you seem to be unforgiving to Cardinals, bishops, priests and other power wielding religious of the Catholic Church mainly the Syro Malabar Church.
I find most of your editorial staff and contributors of high standard, learned, scholarly and well equipped. But subjects like discussed by Massimo Faggioli make your writing distasteful.
Imagine what impression it would have if read and discussed by a group of nuns in a convent. Similarly the note that you wrote to Swami Sachidanand Barati was not respectful and encouraging. It just killed and buried deep down his important initiative to build a post corona Church.
I know that my pointer is not respectful either because you are one of my most honoured mentors. I can only assure you that because of my love and high regards for you I am making bold to express my view. I really want CCV to become the best Catholic news agency.
