‘Women only fit to deliver children’, says Kerala Sunni Cleric

(Note; Don’t say any more Kerala has no outstanding men among the world’s crazy lot. Of course most of the Muslims in Kerala, the most literate state in India, are educated with schools, colleges and of course any number of Madrasas which usually are backward looking. They have their share of educated illiterates among elderly Musaliars. Among the youth there is no dearth of terrorist In organizations or rogue elements either. Some of them cut off the hand of the Newman College professor for allegedly offending their religious sensibilities in the preparation of a question paper. Reportedly youngsters are also joining the ISIS – getting trained and coming back.. They are also very active politically with a party called by a purely religious name: “Muslim League” and they demand others to believe they are 100% secular. And remember there is no other Indian political party with a purely religious name: no Hindu League, no Christian League, no Sikh Leagaue. RSS calls itself a cultural organization, though it acts like a political party guiding the BJP. Literally Kerala is a land of contradictions. It is called “God’s own Country” which produces a lot of devilish cutthroats especially when political fight arises between Godly and ungodly political parties. It also produces any number of Kaap Panchayats (Kerala version) since there is no dearth Musaliars like Kanthapuran who thrive because of the freedom of speech allowed in the State. Vivekananda found it a real “Mad House” long ago in his time. It looks it has not changed one bit even now. Just think of what Vellappaly Nadesan and party are doing with Sri Narayana Guru who fought tooth and nail against all caste divisions and wanted to promote a humane humanity uniting all. Aren’t we seeing the reverse of what the proverb says: “Call a dog a bad name and hang it!” By calling a place “God’s own Country” will it cease to be the hellish place it really is? james kottoor, editor)

Thiruvananthapuram: In a controversial remark, Sunni leader Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliar on Saturday described as "un-Islamic" the concept of gender equality and said that women could never equal men as "they are fit only to deliver children".
Musliar, the chief of All India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama, said women have no mental strength and the power to control the universe, "which lies in the hands of men." "Gender equality is something which is never going to be a reality. It is against Islam, humanity and was intellectually wrong," he said while speaking at a camp of Muslim Students Federation (MSF) in Kozhikode.
"Women can never equal men. They are fit only to deliver children. Women cannot withstand crisis situations", he said. He wondered if there was even a single woman among thousands of cardiac surgeons. The 76-year-old Islamic scholar's remarks against reservation for women in elections had set off another controversy recently.
He had said 50 per cent reservation of seats for women in civic polls was "too high" but retracted the statement later when it became controversial. Referring to the ongoing debates over allowing girls and boys to share seats in colleges, he said it was "part of a calculated move to destroy Islam and culture."He also rubbished recent allegations regarding sexual exploitation at Madrasas and asked those who raised allegations to bring evidence to prove it.
