The key to discipleship

Carol Harris

As I was reading the article from NCR this morning regarding this weekend's readings, this jumped out at me: "… the key to discipleship, the essence of being servants of God, lies very little in the plans we make or the gifts we would give to God. The message for us, as for Mary, is that God continues to want to do what has never been done before, and that can happen only to the extent that we are willing to listen to the unexpected and to put our very selves at the disposal of God's plan."

Words for us to ponder during the remainder of Advent and into the Christmas season. Let us listen closely to the unexpected and make sure we are putting ourselves at the disposal of God's plan. Then say, as Mary did, "Thy will be done." How can we go wrong?
Christmas blessings to all!
