WEST BENGAL-SIKKIM REGION: ACTION PLANS – 2015

Objective: “Empowering Our Laity for Greater Pastoral Collaboration and Political Responsibilities”

(BRBC–CRI–CDPB  ANNUAL MEET 2014: 6th – 9th October, at Darjeeling )

  1. Implement the recommendations to the Regional Pastoral Council such as:

    1. DPC – by Dec 2014
    2. PPC, PFC – by March 2015
    3. SCC –  by June 2015
  2. Organize pastoral formation programs for  Laity namely: Bible, SCC, Canon law, Liturgy, proclamation and catechesis
  3. Explore possibilities of giving responsible positions to the qualified and trust worthy lay persons in Diocesan Finance Committee, in educational institutions & in Diocesan Commissions.

 

 

  1. Every community to involve in the SCCs to strengthen as well as to startnew units.
  2. Every community to make a commitment to visit families at least once a week.
  3. To try not to be seen as administrators but as animators and spiritual guides, and also improve the quality of our community life, making it more joyful/generous and ourselves more caring for one another, thus leading a witnessing life before others.
  4. To be simple and modestin our life style and celebrations, inviting laity especially the poor for our celebrations. This modesty should be reflected in the lives and attitudes of the individualmembers too.
  5. To make our communities more hospitable, welcoming to the laity,especially the poor, thus narrowing our distance from laity.
  6. To make all efforts in our parishes to systematically implement the Arch/Diocesan Pastoral Plan and also involve women religious more in pastoral planning and activities.

 

  1. To create a participatory church by educating laity, religious and priests on the importance of SCC, PPC, PFC, ICYM through seminars, group discussions, group dynamics etc
  2. To include laity in different commissions of the parishes and diocese
  3. To create bureau especially for education, employment, vocation and marriage.
  4. To include laity in decision making committees
  5. To involve laity for tapping the financial resources in the parishes and diocese.
